COOKIE POLICY
Effective Date: August 2, 2026
Last Updated: August 2, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Walter Marine I LLC, doing business as ReefMaker (“ReefMaker,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), uses cookies and similar technologies on reefmaker.com.
This policy should be read together with ReefMaker’s Privacy Policy.
- WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small text files stored on a browser or device when a person visits a website. Cookies may allow a website to operate, remember choices, protect forms, measure performance, or recognize a browser during a later visit.
Similar technologies include:
• local or session storage;
• pixels and web beacons;
• software development or analytics identifiers; and
• scripts that read or store information on a browser or device.
In this policy, “cookies” includes these similar technologies unless the context requires otherwise.
- FIRST-PARTY AND THIRD-PARTY COOKIES
First-party cookies are placed or controlled through ReefMaker’s website domain.
Third-party cookies may be placed by an external provider whose technology is used on the website. A third party’s own privacy and cookie terms may govern its independent processing.
ReefMaker should not enable a nonessential third-party cookie until any consent required by law has been obtained.
- COOKIE CATEGORIES
A. Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies support essential website operations and may be used to:
• maintain security and network functionality;
• record cookie-consent choices;
• operate forms;
• prevent duplicate, fraudulent, or abusive submissions;
• maintain a session or requested website feature; and
• balance traffic or reliably deliver pages.
Because these cookies are necessary to provide the website or a feature requested by the visitor, they generally cannot be disabled through ReefMaker’s cookie-preference tool. They may still be blocked through browser settings, but doing so can prevent parts of the website from working.
Default status: Active where necessary.
B. Preference and functionality cookies
These cookies may remember choices such as:
• interface or display preferences;
• previously selected settings; and
• other optional website preferences.
Default status: Disabled until permitted where consent is required.
C. Analytics and performance cookies
If enabled, these cookies may help ReefMaker understand:
• which pages are visited;
• how visitors navigate the website;
• whether pages or forms function correctly;
• general device, browser, and referral information; and
• aggregated website performance.
ReefMaker should use analytics information to improve website operation and content, not to make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about individual visitors.
Default status: Disabled until consent where required.
D. Advertising and marketing cookies
If ReefMaker enables marketing or attribution technology, these cookies may be used to:
• measure the source of a website visit;
• evaluate campaign performance;
• limit repeated advertising; or
• support advertising based on a visitor’s interactions.
ReefMaker does not currently represent that it sells personal information or uses website data for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Default status: Disabled until affirmative consent where required.
- COOKIE INVENTORY
The exact cookies present on a website can change when hosting, security, form, analytics, or content services are updated.
ReefMaker’s cookie-preference interface should identify currently active nonessential cookies, their providers, purposes, and durations. ReefMaker should also conduct periodic cookie scans to ensure that the consent interface and this policy remain accurate.
Cookie durations generally fall into two groups:
• Session cookies, which normally expire when the browser session ends; and
• Persistent cookies, which remain until their configured expiration date or until the visitor deletes them.
A cookie may be renewed when the website is revisited, depending on its function and the visitor’s settings.
- CONSENT AND COOKIE CHOICES
Where required, ReefMaker will request consent before storing or accessing nonessential analytics, preference, or marketing cookies.
Visitors should be able to:
• accept all optional cookies;
• reject all optional cookies;
• select cookies by category; and
• revisit or withdraw their choices through the “Cookie Settings” link or control on the website.
Withdrawing consent does not invalidate processing performed before withdrawal. Previously stored cookies may need to be deleted through the browser or device settings.
Strictly necessary cookies may continue to operate after optional cookies are rejected.
- BROWSER CONTROLS
Most browsers allow users to:
• view stored cookies;
• delete some or all cookies;
• block first-party or third-party cookies;
• receive a warning before a cookie is stored; and
• restrict tracking technologies.
The available controls depend on the browser and device. Blocking all cookies may interfere with navigation, forms, consent records, and other website functions.
- OPT-OUT PREFERENCE SIGNALS
Some browsers or extensions transmit an opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control.
Where legally required and technically applicable, ReefMaker will treat a recognized signal as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising.
ReefMaker does not currently sell personal information or knowingly share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Therefore, such a signal may not result in a visible change beyond the choices available through the cookie-preference interface.
A browser’s “Do Not Track” setting is not necessarily the same as a legally recognized opt-out preference signal. Because no uniform industry response to traditional Do Not Track signals exists, the website may not respond to those signals unless required by law.
- INFORMATION ASSOCIATED WITH COOKIES
Depending on the cookies enabled, associated information may include:
• IP address;
• cookie or device identifier;
• browser and operating-system information;
• pages viewed;
• referring page;
• approximate visit time;
• general geographic region;
• interaction or diagnostic events; and
• consent choices.
ReefMaker handles this information as described in its Privacy Policy.
- THIRD-PARTY CONTENT AND LINKS
The website may link to or display content from third-party websites. Following a link or interacting with embedded third-party content may allow that third party to collect information under its own policies.
ReefMaker does not control cookies placed directly by an independently operated third-party website.
- CHANGES TO THIS COOKIE POLICY
ReefMaker may update this Cookie Policy when:
• cookies or vendors change;
• website functionality changes;
• legal requirements change; or
• ReefMaker changes how it measures or markets its services.
The updated policy will be posted with a revised “Last Updated” date. ReefMaker will request renewed consent when legally required.
